Terms of Service

Last updated: October 11, 2026. These terms are between you and INCORPA LLC (doing business as IntelEat), USA.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using IntelEat, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If you keep using the app after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, please review these terms with a parent or guardian before using the app.

3. Health, allergy & medical disclaimer

IntelEat is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nutrition scores, allergen flags, recall alerts, recipe filters, and answers from the Intel assistant are for general information only. They do not replace guidance from a doctor, registered dietitian, or other qualified professional, especially if you manage food allergies, a medical condition, or a diet with medical importance.

  • Always read the physical package and ingredient list before you eat something, even if the app shows no warning.
  • Diet and allergy filters, including in Meal ideas and Recipes, work by matching ingredient names. They can miss ingredients that are hidden, renamed, or listed under a different name, and they cannot detect cross-contact.
  • Halal filtering removes pork and alcohol ingredients by name. It cannot tell how meat was sourced or prepared.
  • A recall or allergen flag that does not appear does not mean a product is safe.
  • In an emergency, such as a severe allergic reaction, call your local emergency number right away.

4. Data sources & accuracy

The information in IntelEat comes from several sources, and any of it can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong.

  • Packaged-product information (ingredients, nutrition, allergens, Nutri-Score) comes from Open Food Facts, a free database that anyone can add to. If a product is missing, we tell you rather than guess. When a product has no official Nutri-Score, we may show an IntelEat estimate instead. We calculate it ourselves from the product's nutrition facts and how processed its ingredients are, using the same kind of points system as Nutri-Score. It is clearly labeled as an estimate, it is not an official rating, and it does not use customer reviews.
  • Recall information comes from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (openFDA). It covers FDA-regulated foods. Recalls of meat, poultry, and some egg products are handled by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and are not shown. Reports can appear after a delay.
  • Recipes come from TheMealDB, a free community recipe database. It does not include nutrition information, and ingredient lists may be incomplete.
  • Tips are written by IntelEat as general education. They are not live news.
  • Meal nutrition from the Plate Scanner and answers from Intel are generated by an AI model. They are estimates, not measurements, and can be wrong.

5. AI features

The Plate Scanner and the Intel assistant use an AI model (Google's Gemini) to analyze the photos and messages you send. AI can misread a photo, make mistakes, or give answers that sound sure but are wrong. Use your own judgment, and do not rely on it for allergy or medical decisions.

To make Intel's answers fit you, your chat messages are sent together with the diet, allergies, goals, and kitchen grocery names saved in your account. Please do not send information you would not want processed this way.

Free accounts have daily limits on barcode scans, plate scans, and assistant messages. We may change these limits.

6. Your account & responsibilities

You are responsible for keeping your login details private and for everything that happens under your account, including any family member accounts you invite. Tell us promptly if you think someone used your account without permission. You agree not to misuse the service, interfere with how it works, or try to access data that is not yours.

7. Plans, billing & refunds

IntelEat offers a Free plan and two paid monthly subscriptions: Personal ($9.99 per month) and Family ($19.99 per month). Current prices and what each plan includes are shown on our Pricing page and before you pay. Prices are in U.S. dollars, and sales tax or VAT may be added depending on where you live.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. When you buy on our website, you also agree to Paddle's buyer terms, which are shown at checkout.

Paid plans renew automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel anytime, and you keep your paid features until the end of the period you already paid for. If we change a plan's price, we will tell you before the change applies to your next renewal.

Payments are refunded when there was a defect on IntelEat's side, such as a paid plan that never unlocked, a duplicate or incorrect charge, or a paid feature that didn't work and that we couldn't fix, as described in our Refund Policy at inteleat.net/refund. Payments are not refunded because you changed your mind. This does not limit any rights you have under consumer law where you live, and Paddle may also issue refunds under its own refund policy.

When the iPhone app launches, subscriptions bought in it will be billed through the Apple App Store under Apple's terms, and Apple will handle their refunds.

The Family plan supports up to 8 accounts: the owner plus up to 7 others, each with their own login. If the owner's paid plan ends, the other accounts move to the Free plan.

8. Your content & conduct

You keep ownership of the information you add to your account. You give us permission to store it and process it as needed to run the app for you. If you submit a product for review, the barcode and details you provide may be used to improve product information.

You agree not to submit false, misleading, or abusive content, use the app for anything unlawful, copy or scrape the app's content in bulk, or try to reverse engineer or break the app's security.

9. Intellectual property

The IntelEat name, logo, app design, written tips, and underlying software belong to INCORPA LLC (doing business as IntelEat) and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the app without written permission. Third-party data and recipes belong to their owners and are shown under the terms of their sources.

10. Third-party services & links

Some screens link to websites we do not run, such as an original recipe page or a recipe video. Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices, and we are not responsible for their content.

11. Changes to the service

We may add, change, or remove features, and the app may sometimes be unavailable because of maintenance, outages, or problems with the outside services it relies on. We do not promise the app will always be available or error-free.

12. Disclaimer of warranties & limitation of liability

IntelEat is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, INCORPA LLC (doing business as IntelEat) is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including reliance on nutrition scores, ingredient or allergen information, recall information, recipes, or AI answers. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

13. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes arising from these terms or use of the app will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Washtenaw County, Michigan, unless applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.

14. Termination

You may stop using IntelEat and delete your account at any time from Profile, under Privacy & your data. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms. When an account is deleted, its data is removed as described in the Privacy Policy, subject to any legal retention requirements.

15. General

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and INCORPA LLC (doing business as IntelEat) about the app.
