Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 11, 2026. This policy explains how INCORPA LLC (doing business as IntelEat), USA, handles your information.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us:

  • Your name, email address, and password. Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider, and we cannot see them.
  • Your diet, allergies, goals, and shopping preferences.
  • Kitchen groceries you add, and tips and recipe ingredients you save (including the Breakfast, Lunch, Snack, and Dinner lists), and family members you invite (their name and email).
  • Your messages to the Intel assistant, and any product submissions you send.

Information created as you use the app:

  • Barcode scan history, meals you save from the Plate Scanner (estimated nutrition, not the photo), your chat history, and a simple activity history.
  • Daily usage counts, used to apply the free-plan limits.
  • Technical information, such as error logs, and your device's IP address, which our hosting provider and the outside services the app contacts receive as part of any internet request.
  • Your plan and subscription status. If you buy a paid plan, we receive the purchase details from Paddle (such as the plan, the date, your email and country), but never your full card number.

Camera and photos: the camera is used only while you have a scanner open. Barcodes are read on your device, and only the barcode number is looked up. A meal photo is sent for analysis only when you tap Analyze, and it is not stored in your account.

Location: the app does not ask for or collect your location.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to run the app: showing product details, estimating meal nutrition, filtering recipes by your diet and allergies, flagging recalls that may affect you, tailoring Intel's answers to your saved preferences and groceries, applying free-plan limits, keeping your data in sync across your devices, fixing problems, keeping the service secure, and answering your support requests. We do not use your information for advertising.

3. Who receives information

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising. To provide the app, we share only what each service needs:

  • Supabase, our database and sign-in provider, stores your account and runs our server functions.
  • Google (Gemini AI service) receives your meal photos when you analyze them, and your chat messages along with your saved diet, allergies, goals, and kitchen grocery names. It also receives ingredient names when you ask Intel to explain one. Google handles this data under its own Gemini API terms.
  • Open Food Facts receives barcode numbers you scan or type, directly from your device.
  • TheMealDB receives the words you search for in Recipes, directly from your device.
  • openFDA (U.S. FDA) receives the words you search for in Recalls, directly from your device.
  • Google Fonts serves the app's fonts, so Google receives your device's IP address when they load.
  • Paddle (paddle.com), our online reseller and Merchant of Record, processes purchases of paid plans on our website. Paddle collects your payment details and billing information directly, under its own privacy policy, and tells us whether your payment succeeded.
  • Apple processes purchases made in the iPhone app, once it is available, under its own privacy policy.

Services the app contacts directly from your device also see your IP address and have their own privacy policies. We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of users and IntelEat, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (we would tell you first if your data would be handled under a different policy).

4. Data security & retention

Data travels over encrypted connections. Access controls in our database mean only you can read your account's information, and our AI service keys stay on our servers, never in the app. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep your data while your account is active. You can clear your chat history or remove saved items at any time. When you delete your account, your profile, kitchen groceries, saved tips, saved ingredients, scans, meals, chat history, and other account data are permanently deleted. Copies in backups and technical logs kept by our providers may remain for a limited time before they are overwritten, and we may keep information we are legally required to keep.

5. Your rights & choices

You can view and change your name, email, password, diet, allergies, and goals in Profile. You can download a copy of your data or delete your account from Profile, under Privacy & your data. You can turn off camera access in your device settings at any time.

Depending on where you live (for example, California and other U.S. states with privacy laws), you may have the right to know what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and not be treated differently for using these rights. Because we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, there is nothing to opt out of. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

6. Cookies, storage & tracking

We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics. The app stores your sign-in session on your device so you stay signed in, until you sign out. It also keeps a copy of your preferences, groceries, kitchen items, saved tips and ingredients, and your light/dark setting in your device's storage, so your changes are not lost if the connection drops. That copy stays on your device until our database confirms it, and you can remove it by clearing the app's data in your browser.

7. Children's privacy

IntelEat is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We will change the "Last updated" date when we do, and we will make the new version available in the app.
